Vernon P. Burk Kratzer, 74 years of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at his residence.
He was born in Otway, Ohio on December 3, 1927 the son of the late Joseph D. and Fay Deloris Lawson Kratzer.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He retired in 1992 from the Liston Gas Company of Otway after forty-five years.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Conway Kratzer, Joe Kratzer, Jr., and three sisters, Martha Faul, Bernice Boutwell, and Edith Nichols.
He was united in marriage on February 10, 1968 to Maxine Wallace Kratzer, who survives. Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Susan Thompson of Hillsboro, two granddaughters, Allison and Andrea, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale Kratzer of Otway, Ralph and Shelby Kratzer of Otway, Kenneth and Karen Kratzer of Spring Valley, two sisters-in-law, Ruth Kratzer of Springfield, Deloris Wallace of Peebles, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2002 at the Tick Ridge Cemetery at Otway. Burial will follow in the Tick Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Charity of the Donor?s Choice.
