Virgil Longacre, age 85 of West Union, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in Montgomery County, Ohio on July 23, 1928 the son of the late Calvin and Ina Burnett Longacre.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Longacre who passed away in 1987.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gail and Robin Longacre of Winchester and Larry and Cheryl Longacre of Winchester; one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Golden Howard of Midland, Ohio; one sister, Norma Stratton of Lebanon, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Elizabeth Durst of West Union.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Steve Darby officiating. Burial will follow in Winchester Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
