Virginia Lee Layman

Virginia Lee Layman, 100 years of Englewood, FL, passed away on Sunday July 12, 2015 at the Pinebrook Rehab & Nursing Center in Venice.
She was born in Highland County, OH on October 13, 1914, the daughter of the late Roy C. and Lydia E. (Clyburn) Warnock.
Virginia had been a resident of Englewood since 1968 coming from Hillsboro, OH. She was a real estate broker and opened the Virginia Layman Realty in 1969 retiring in 1990. Mrs. Layman was a member of the East England Church of Christ. Her hobbies included quilting, playing cards, word search puzzles and cross word puzzles.
Virginia is survived by her children, Fred Barrett of Englewood, Cathryn Harper of North Port, her sister, Isobel Robinson of Bradenton, six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 16, 2015 at Englewood Community Funeral Home, Inc. 3070 S. McCall Rd. Englewood, FL 34224 from 5:00 P.M. to the service time at 6:30 P.M.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday July 19, 2015 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, OH with Rev. Janie Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow in Barnes Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Friends may call at 1:30 P.M. until time of service on Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home.
