Walter E. Cooper, 76 years of Peebles, died Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the Eagle Creek Nursing Center in West Union.
He was born in South Portsmouth, Kentucky on December 28, 1929 the son of the late James and Goldie Jewett Cooper.
He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Mayhill Church of Christ and the Seaman American Legion Charles H. Eyre Post #633.
He is survived by one brother, Mike Cooper of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, three sisters, Joyce Boggs of Ashland, Kentucky, Carolyn Taliaferro of Anderson, Indiana, Ruth Roush of Peebles, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Richard Lloyd officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Collier?s Memorial Gardens in South Shore, Kentucky, with military graveside rites conducted by the James L. Flannery American Legion Post #276.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 till 3:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
