Walter J. Rogers, 83 years of Seaman, died Sunday, June 24, 2001 at the Adams County Hospital in West Union.

He was born in Bath County, Kentucky on March 11, 1918 the son of the late Alvin and Carrie Hornback Rogers.

He was a member of the Winchester United Methodist Church and the Methodist Mens Brotherhood for over 40 years.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Earl Rogers, and one sister, Catherine Harmon.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ivetta Stephens Rogers of Seaman, sons and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Ada Rogers of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Leonard Rogers of Winchester, daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Emery Reed of Owingsville, Kentucky, two sisters, Emma Bellamy of Tollesboro, Kentucky, Lucy Hawkins of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, special niece, Daisey Gill, and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home in Winchester with Rev. John Waugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherry Fork Cemetery.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 till 9:00 P.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home.
