Wayland W. Barker, 77 years of Peebles. Died on Tuesday, October 30, 2012,
at Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon.
He was born in Pike County on September 6, 1935, the son of the late Elmer W. and Pearlie E. Lambert Barker. Besides his parents he was preceded by two grandchildren.
He was a truck driver and logger and was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife Mary P. Turner Barker whom he married on January 28, 1961. He is survived by two sons, Rick Barker of Piketon and Mike Candi Barker of Latham; he is survived by five daughters, Linda McLeod of Sinking Spring, Kathy Phillips of Piketon, Pam Greg Gilmore of Killeen Texas, Debbie Wayne Scharbrough of Piketon and Tammy Dusty Coyle of New Boston; three sisters Nyoka Davis of Peebles, Grace Barker of Peebles and Wilma Crabtree of Peebles; sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday November 2, 2012 at 1:00P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring.
Burial will be at Cedar Chapel Cemetery in Sinking Spring.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 A.M. till time of service at 1:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
