Wayne Hatfield, 83 years of Hillsboro died Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Highland District Hospital
He was born at Akron, OH on August 31, 1925 the son of the late Edgar Wayne and Clarice Webb Hatfield, Sr.
He was an Army Veteran serving in WWII and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #9094 Hillsboro. He retired from Duncanson Brothres in Hillsboro after 45 years.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Smith Hatfield on November 11, 1997, one daughter, Beverly Bailey on December 20, 1990, three brothers, Bob, Bill, Donnie Hatfield, one sister, Evelyn Spettels.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Robert Kelly of Xenia, Sharon and Earl Hughes of Hillsboro, Cindy and Vernon Page of Hillsboro, one sister, Elizabeth Wernery of Cincinnati, eight grandchildren, Ronnie Wayne Hughes, Regina Hatch, Chrissy Blevins, Nick Blevins, Cheryl Emerson, Brandy Roades, Michael Bailey, Tim Hughes, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Dr. Dan Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the Hightop Cemetery with Military Rites by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
