Wesley I. McCane, 80 years of the Jacktown Community, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on September 17, 1921 the son of the late Robert and Sophia Gilbert McCane.
He was a member of the Jacktown Mission Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Eddie McCane.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Fetters McCane of the Jacktown Community, who he married on February 15, 1947, sons and daughters-in-law, John and Cheryl McCane of Peebles, Bob McCane of Peebles, Tim and Beth McCane of Peebles, Steve and Angie McCane of Peebles, daughters and son-in-law, Joyce Bowser of Cincinnati, Vicki and Ed Combs of Peebles, brothers, Dick McCane of Peebles, Bobby McCane of Peebles, J.C. McCane of Peebles, sisters, Bessie Honig of Peebles, Thelma Campbell of Peebles, Jeanie Crouch of Peebles, Adrian Douglas of Springfield, Ohio, Jewell Hunter of Manchester, Grace Johnson of Leesburg, Shirley Abbott of Seaman, fifteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Ken Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jacktown Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
