William A. ?Bill? Garvey, 83 years of Winchester, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on July 26, 1924, the son of the late Earl F. and Nancy Taylor Garvey.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Jane Flaig; two nephews, Charlie Bill Flaig and Tom Miller.
He was a member of the Sugartree Ridge Church of Christ where he had served as a Deacon, a prominent farmer in Highland and Brown Counties and was an Army Veteran serving his Country during W.W.II.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Miller Garvey; Raymond Barnes lived with the family for several years and his wife, children and grandchildren were friends with the family. brother-in-law, Chet Cherry Miller of Bainbridge, Ohio; sister-in-law, Cindy Abell of Oxford, Ohio; seven nephews, Mike and Bob Flaig, David and Bill Miller, Roger, Jim and John Abell; one niece, Mary Cicero; several great nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Drue Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugartree Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 P.M. till 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
