William H. Jones, 79 years of Peebles, died Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Peebles.
He was born in Greenup County, Kentucky on August 4, 1923 the son of the late Charles and Etta Thompson Jones.
He worked for the Norfolk and Western Railroad.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Audra McCann Jones, who passed away on July 31, 1999, and daughter Marie Jones, who passed away in 1981.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Tony Jones of Peebles, Keith Jones of Seaman, Bob and Kathy Jones of Seaman, Ray and Virginia Jones of Sugartree Ridge, Carl and Marie Jones of Seaman, thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brothers, Sam Jones of Peebles, Jr. Jones of Peebles, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Daniel McCann officiating. Burial will follow in the Tranquility Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Southwest Ohio Area Office, 5400 Dupont Circle, Suite J, Milford, OH 45150.
