William Robert "Bob" Sheeley, 80 years of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at his residence.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on February 1, 1926 the son of the late Frank and Myrtle Edgington Sheeley.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was Petroleum Manager for Hartley Oil and Highland Landmark, worked for fifteen years at Thompson Funeral Home, and served as a Liberty Township Trustee. He was a member of the Hillsboro Chapter #441 O.E.S., Highland Lodge #38 F.&A.M., Hillsboro Chapter #40 R.A.M., Hillsboro Council #16 R.S.M., Highland Commandery #31 Knights Templar, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, and Ohio Priory #18 Knights Cross York of Honor.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol L. Wilkin Sheeley, who passed away on August 12, 1985, and two sisters, Louise Hughes and Mary Ruth Whiting.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Don and Wanda Sheeley of Hillsboro, daughters, Connie Sheeley Cummings of Hillsboro, Karen Davis of Lynchburg, grandchildren, Jared Robert Sheeley, Derrick Wade Sheeley, Matthew Newby, Derek Crabtree, Tiffany Larrick, and Megan Larrick, nieces, Dorothy McFarland of Manchester, Ohio, Nancy Hodge of Nashville, Tennessee, and nephew, Wayne Melita Whiting of Dayton.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 11, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Janie Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home with Eastern Star and Masonic Service at 8:00 P.M.
