William J. Thornhill II, 64 years of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at his residence.
He was born November 25, 1949 in Chicago, IL., the son of the late William J. and Mary Trela Thornhill I.
He was a U.S. Marine Veteran serving during the Viet-Nam War, a lifetime member of the VFW Post #9094 and the AMVETS Post #61 in Hillsboro, and was a truck driver by vocation.
On August 10, 1982 he was united in marriage to Susan VanderWoude Thornhill who survives. He is also survived by four sons, William J. Thornhill III of Hillsboro, Charles Sykora of Hillsboro, David Sykora of Ft. Wayne, IN., Kevin Sykora of Hillsboro; one daughter, Wendy Sykora of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, James McPhail, Andrew McPhail, Lillian Garretson, Brandon Sykora, Kate Sykora, Brody Sykora, Charles Sykora III; three step grandchildren, Brittany Garretson, Leanne Garretson, Chelsey Garretson; one great grandson, Charles Sykora IV; two sisters, Mary Cavallini of Crown Point, IL., Debbie Bach of Lynnwood, IL.; seven nieces and nephews, Caity Boiken, Jesse Nedohan, Bill Bach, Donna Storbeck, Brian Bach, Sandy Cavallini, Chuck Cavallini; great niece and nephews, Billy Bach, Maddy Nedohon, Andrew Nedohon, Tyler Nedohon; a host of friends.
According to his wishes he will be cremated. No visitation or funeral services will be held.
