Willis Howard, 78 years of Hillsboro, died on Sunday May 19, 2013 at Georgetown Ohio Veterans Home.
He was born in Chavies Kentucky on December 28, 1934, the son of the late William and Ellen Napier Howard. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by three sisters Ruth Cooke, Shelby Johnson, and Pauline Warrens.
Willis served in the US Army during Korea, a member of the Carmel Church of God, retired from A&B Foundry in Franklin, and was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Howard of Hillsboro, step-son Christopher Finley Berry of Portland, Oregon, two step-daughters, Carly Faith Mark, Sr. Beatty of Dayton, and Anne Marie Rose of Nashville, Tennessee. Three brothers, Charles Howard of Franklin, Dorsey Howard of Somerville, and Jerry Howard of Somerville, three sisters, Brenda Allen of Middletown, Christine Gross of Middletown, and Linda Melton of Middletown, five step-grandchildren, Crystal, Stacy, Mark Jr., Megan, and Jamie and five step-great grandchildren, Noah, Amber, Austin, Alex and Morgan.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday 12:00 Noon on June 1, 2013 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Denney officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard following services at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Friends may call on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the Thompson Funeral Home.
