Wilma Jones

Wilma Jean Jones, 68 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday January 20, 2023.

She was born in Portsmouth on September 1, 1954, the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Anna (Smith) Bays, Sr. Besides her parents, she is also preceded by her husband, Ronnie Mark Jones on April 18, 2017, brother, Robert Bays, Jr. and sister, Bonnie Page.

Wilma graduated from Colerain High School, received her nursing degree from Southern State Community College and retried after 30 years in the nursing field.

Wilma is survived by her son, Anthony "Davey" Jones of Hillsboro, daughter, Dawn "Shell" (Russell) Renner of Hillsboro, grandchildren, Taylor "Nikki" Cupp, Eddie "Bubby" (Savannah Renee) Renner and Alex Blake Renner, great grandchildren, Dravin Mark Lee Shelton, Martin James Renner, Gaven Walter Lee Willey and Audrey Rose Johnson, sister, Ruth Ann Bach, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Greg Roberts will officiate with burial following in the New Market Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
