Wilma Whitley, 81 years of Peebles, died Wednesday, September 01, 2004 at Austin Manor in Peebles.
She was born at Cedar Fork in Adams County on December 31, 1922 the daughter of the late Rodney and Marjorie Wilson Purtee.
She attended the Antioch Church.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Denver Whitley, and four sisters, Jean Brayfield, Chloie Whitley, Ruth Mason, and Velma Parker.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Joyce Whitley of Peebles, one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Donald D. Austin of Peebles, four grandchildren, four great grandsons, and two brothers, Charles Purtee of Peebles, and William Purtee of Columbus.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Volley Reed and Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Fork Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
