Yolande Thorp, 72 years of Peebles, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010 at her residence.
She was born in New Brunswick, Canada on June 19, 1937 the daughter of the late Earnest and Leda Bellfleur Laforest.
Yolande was a member of the Peebles Church of Christ and the Peebles Lioness Club.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Billie Thorp, who passed away one January 13, 2007.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Earl and Heather Thorp of Peebles, four brothers; Dollard, Lucien, Maurice, and Laurier Laforest all of Canada, six sisters; Vennete Mcintyre of Oklahoma, Aurore Corbin of Cananda, Wilda Powers of Virginia, Geane Boudreau of Canada, Gloria Parent of Illinois, and Doreen Tierney of Illinois, two grandchildren; Whitnee and Codie, and three step grandchildren; Destanie, Darrell, and Chad.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Jim Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
